You can apply to be on a committee at any time, just talk to an officer or the committee chair at any meeting.
Membership Recruitment & Development:
Chair: Megan Krewsky
This committee aims to ensure members have meaningful experiences in the club related to our five values: connections, excellence, innovation, passion, and servant leadership. They will develop and carry out all activities involving the recruitment and education of new members. They will help build the leadership skills of our members through events such as mini-workshops Leadership Acadamey while making sure potential members are on track for induction at the end of the semester.
Chair: Sarah Kidwell
This committee develops and carries out fundraisers that will help us make significant monetary contributions to local charities while also raising funds for the club. The funds raised through these events allow us to have socials for the members of the club.
Chair: Sela Mitrisin
This committee works to attract speakers, book presentations and develop interesting & engaging ideas for General Club Meetings. Members of this committee will work with alumni, Kiwanians, fellow Circle Ker and other potential speakers to administer and manage the schedule of guests at Circle K.
Chair: Nicole Kernahan
This committee works to maintain contact with all members of the club and keep them informed on any news that the club needs to be aware of. They also send out email reminders to the club for important dates and meeting times. This task is done primarly through our mailing service.
Chair: Daniel Phadke
This commmittee is designed to raise awareness about what Circle K is doing to the student body, other campus organizations, and the community as a whole. They work closely with the Recruitment Committee to bring in new members, while they design and create posters, and presentation boards, and inform newspapers, radio, and television stations of Circle K events
Banquets and Socials:
Chair: Alyx Chandler
This committee will be incharge of creating fun and engaging events that give the members of the club a chance to get to know one another. They will also be incharge of selecting a location, handling decorations, inviting guests, making meal & program arrangments and handling all logistics for both the Fall & Spring Club Banquets. In these banquets, UA Circle K seeks to recognize and showcase the tireless efforts of the wonderful Circle Kers on the Alabama campus.
Kiwanis Family Relations:
This committee develops social, service, and networking events with other Circle K and Kiwanis Family clubs in order to build strong relationships with them. They set up interclubs, service projects, socials, and larger events with Key Clubs (high school level), Circle K clubs (college level), and Kiwanis Clubs (adult level) in the area, as well as inform other clubs about the activities of UA Circle K and invite them to join us.
Scrapbook and Design:
Chair: Haley Walczak
This committee oversees the creation of the club scrapbook throughout the year (by collecting mementos and pictures) and helps document the club history by organizing and maintaining records. They will also create posters and flyers throughout the year for different fundraisers and recruitment events so any information that we give out will be up to date.
Chair: Jacob Fondriest
This committee focuses on the design, development, and general maintenance of the club website and other specific websites we produce throughout the year. The committee will work together to continue to learn new skills as well as teach those skills to the membership. The Tech Committee also works with area organizations on the construction and improvement of their websites.
