You can apply to be on a committee at any time, just talk to an officer at any meeting.
Membership Development & Education:
This committee aims to ensure members have meaningful experiences in the club related to our five values: connections, excellence, innovation, passion, and servant leadership. They will help build the leadership skills of our members through events such as mini-workshops and LeadCon. They also focus on service learning and social justice through reflection and educational events.
Recruitment:
This committee develops and carries out all activities involving the recruitment of new members. They create materials, plan events, host sessions, man interest tables, chalk and complete other activities to bring new members in to UA Circle K.
Fundraising:
This committee develops and carries out fundraisers that will help us make significant monetary contributions to local charities.
Programs:
This committee works to attract speakers, book presentations and develop interesting & engaging ideas for General Club Meetings. Members of this committee will work with alumni, Kiwanians, fellow Circle Ker and other potential speakers to administer and manage the schedule of guests at Circle K.
Public Relations:
This commmittee is designed to raise awareness about what Circle K is doing to the student body, other campus organizations, and the community. They work closely with the Recruitment Committee to bring in new members, while they design and create posters, and presentation boards, and inform newspapers, radio, and television stations of Circle K events
Banquets:
This committee selects a location, handles decorations, invites guests, makes meal & program arrangments and handles all logistics for both the Fall & Spring Club Banquets. In these banquets, UA Circle K seeks to recognize and showcase the tireless efforts of the wonderful Circle Kers on the Alabama campus.
Kiwanis Family Relations:
This committee develops social, service, and networking events with other Circle K and Kiwanis Family clubs in order to build strong relationships with them. They set up interclubs, service projects, socials, and larger events with Key Clubs (high school level), Circle K clubs (college level), and Kiwanis Clubs (adult level) in the area, as well as inform other clubs about the activities of UA Circle K and invite them to join us.
Scrapbook:
This committee oversees the creation of the club scrapbook throughout the year (by collecting mementos and pictures) and helps document the club history by organizing and maintaining records. They also organize presentations such as videos and slideshows throughout the year.
Conventions:
This committee works to promote and coordinate UA Circle K's attendence at Alabama Leadership Academy, YALL Conference, Alabama District Convention, Alabama Leadership-through-Service Conference and Circle K International Convention. Members are this committee are the mouthpiece for each of these events and work with Alabama District and Circle K International Leaders to ensure that UA Circle K has a strong turnout.
Laws & Regulations:
This committee works with the Executive Board & Club Adivisors, in conjuction with the Alabama District Laws & Regulations Chairman, to ensure that proper protocal is followed in all club decisions and actions. Additionally, this committee is tasked with working with the Alabama District to ensure that UA Circle K Bylaws and Policy Code are in adherence with District and International Codes and Policies.
Technology:
This committee focuses on the design, development, and general maintenance of the club website and other specific websites we produce throughout the year. The committee will work together to continue to learn new skills as well as teach those skills to the membership. They are responsible for the technical aspects of club business such as setting up the projector at meetings and maintaining the office computers. The Tech Committee also works with area organizations on the construction and improvement of their websites.
